This is a very prominent face of Hindi Cinema, mostly seen for smaller and comic roles. You can therefore find in most of the movies with such roles including the ones Luv Shuv Tey Ccicken Khurana’, Chillar Party or Khosla Ka Ghosla. He is born and brought in Ludhiana in Punjab and later headed to Delhi to enrol for the graduation in film and drama at the prestigious institute called NSD or National School of Drama. After completing his training program in acting and filmmaking, he headed to Mumbai, the city of dreams, since all his childhood he wanted to be an actor and thus made his ways to this place.
It was 1995 when he headed to Mumbai and with a bit of struggle, he managed to start his film career with the popular movie Machis. However, before he got his first break he worked with regional movies with similar roles especially in Bengali films. He continued working with the Bengali films till he got a good break in Bollywood. His first Bengali movie was Parmotar Ek Din, which was directed by Aparna Sen starring the director herself along with Soumitra Chatterjee along with Ritupama Sengupta. Following this movie, he did others till he started getting some good roles in Hindi Cinema.
He did a number of movies, some of his earlier movies were mostly Bengali ones like Sonar Sansar, Sathi, Desh, Shubho Mahurat, etc. However, since 2005 he started getting Hindi movies, which include Parineeta, Shikhar, Kranti, Ishqiya, etc. Some of his recent movies include Ghanchakka, BA Pass, Shuddh Desi Romance, Pizza, Strings of Passion (both in Hindi and Bengali) and Taan. Through out his career, he got the chance to work with big actors and bigger banners along with award winning movies, however, he was unfortunate enough to bag any award for his performance.
