Raghu Ram is an actor, and TV producer. He hails from Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India and was born on 15 April 1975. He did his schooling from Machilipatnam and later headed to do his graduation from Deshbandhu College, Sri Venkateswara College and then joined Osmania University in Hyderabad in the third year to complete his graduation. He then headed to work in MTV India where he started supervising a couple of shows like MTV Love Line with VJs Malaika Arora along with Cyrus Broacha. He then spearheaded MTV Select for a couple of seasons of MTV Super Select with VJ Nikhil Chinapa.
In 2004, he appeared in reality tv show Indian Idol as a contestant but was rejected due to his inefficient singing ability and for his signature attitude traits by the judged. However, he clarified the same in his autobiography that it was a prank did for obvious reasons. In MTV he started the show called MTV Roadies that bagged huge popularity which was started with the title called MTV: Find The Road. Earlier, he faced some skepticism from his seniors but later it gained popularity in the second season. He later was appointed the senior supervising producer of MTV India along with being the executive producer of Roadies and MTV Splitsvilla.
After Roadies, he came up with a web series called A.I.SHA My Virtual Girlfriend, which was a webcam fiction show using the streaming platform called Arre. In the year 2017, he was seen in the reality show called Dropout Pvt Ltd, where he judged the contestants for their business acumen. He also worked with the comedy series Comedy Nights Bachao on Colors TV apart from working for the comedy serial Entertainment Ki Raat.
Talking about acting, he acted in a couple of B Town movies like Tees Maar Khan with Akshay Kumar as well. He then was seen in Jhoota Hi Sahi with actor John Abraham. He was applauded by both the critics and the audience. He was even nominated for the Best Singer Award at the popular award platform called GIMA Awards 2012 for his song called “Manmani”. Talking about his personal life he got married to actress Sugandha Garg the actress from the films like Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, My Name Is Khan and Tere Bin Laden. He also wrote a book called Rearview: My Roadies Journey.
