Paresh Rawal is no more an unknown man in Bollywood. He is a popular comedian, actor, politician and thespian who work in both Bollywood and South Indian movies have been incredible. Currently, he is a Member of Parliament on the ticket of BJP in Lok Sabha as he has won the seat from East Ahmedabad in Gujarat. He is born and brought up in Mumbai and did his schooling and college from the known Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics, Vile Parle, Mumbai. He is married to Swaroop Sampat, who happens to be the actress and winner of Miss India of 1979 and together they have two sons – Aditya and Aniruddha.
He did his debut in films in the year 1984 with movie Holi followed by working in Naam, which gave him recognition in the B Town. In the nineties, he did a number of movies with grey shade and negative character, however, in 2000 the movie Hera Pheri helped him to get a comic actor in Bollywood. The character helps him to win a number of awards including Filmfare Best Comedian Award. Some of his movies in negative character include King Ungle, Ram Lakhan, Kabzaa, Baazi, Daud, etc. The movies with comic roles include Phir Hera Pheri, Awara Pagal Deewana, Chor Machaaye Shor, Hungama, Hulchul, Baghban, Fun 2shh: Dudes in the 10th Century, etc.
Some of his recent movies include – OMG – Oh My God!, Raja Natwarlal, Rabba Main Kya Karoon.His upcoming movies include Welcome Back and Dharam Sankat Mein. As per sources, he also plans to do the biopic of Prime Minister of India – Mr. Narendra Modi, which will be his second venture after doing the popular movie OMG: Oh My God! He also worked in Television in his earlier days, in fact, he started his career in acting with small screen only doing TV serials like Bante Bighadte and Chunauti in 1984 and 1985. Both the TV serials were prominent on Doordarshan giving him recognition in the film.
As far as the awards are concerned, he has a long list of awards, which include the most prestigious award – Padma Shri in 2014 for his contribution in entertainment sector, besides, he was awarded with National Awards for the films Woh Chokri and Sir for Best Supporting Actor category. For Hera Pheri, he had bagged all the major awards under the category of best comedian including IIFA, Star Screen, Star Dust, Filmfare, etc. He has simply impressed with his humorous and comic roles in different movies, which makes him different from others in the Bollywood industry.
