Radhika Apte is a popular name in Marathi and South Indian Films. She hails from Pune known as a the cultural city of Maharashtra in the year 19885 on 7th of September in a well known family of Dr. Charudutt Apte the popular neurosurgeon of Sahyadri Hospital. She did her graduation in Mathematics and Economics from the popular college Fergusson College Pune. After her education, she got the chance to work in a couple of movies, however, after doing them she left to London to join the popular Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance to learn and study contemporary dance. As far as her personal life is concerned she is married to a musician from Britain called Benedict Taylor, whom she met in London in 2011 in her yearlong sabbatical.

She started her career with a movie called Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi released in the year 2005, which gave her another movie called Antaheen on the recommendation of Rahul Bose who was her co-star in the said film. In the year 2009, she entered Marathi Cinema to a film called Gho Mala Asla Hava under the banner of KBC Productions wherein she played the character of a village girl called Savitri. She then appeared in a Hindi fiction called Mor Dekhne Jungle Mein the very same year, she was seen working in Ek Marathi Manoos in Jatin Wagle’s venture followed by another project called Life Online, which depicted the life of certain youngsters of BPO followed by working with Marathi movie Samaantar.

In the year 2010, she was seen doing a thriller called The Waiting Room by Maneej Premnath and later was seen in Ram Gopal Varma’s film called Rakta Charitra and its sequel as well. In the year 2011 she was seen in one of the anthology movie called I Am followed by the other called Shor in the City, which were Ekta Kapoor’s venture. She also got a couple of South Indian movies and some of her recent films include Ula, X, Legend, Lai Bhari, etc. Her upcoming movies include Hunterr and Badlapur, while her Telgu movie in post production includes Lion. Apart from the movies, she is also known doing short films and theatres. Her association with theatre has been a long journey particularly for Marathi plays. One of the groups to which she is associated with include Aasakta of Mohit Takalkar.

She did a number of plays for this group including Tu, Matra Ratra, and Purnaviram, while did in English called That Time with Rehan Engineer by Samuel Beckett. She was also seen performing in a commercial Hindi movie called Kanyadaan along with one English play called Bombay Black. In the year 2013, she was seen being the part and parcel of the Marathi play known as Uney Purey Shahar Ek, which happens to be the adaptation of Benda Kaalu on Toast (“Baked Beans of Toast”) by Girish Karnad, while she plans to do a couple of English plays in London as well. Apte loves to be the part of experimental theatre. Besides she has been the part of short films as well, which include Darmiyaan wherein she played the character of a girl called Ekta. She was also seen in a short film by Anurag Kashyap made on eve teasing called That Day After Everyday.
