Do you remember a vociferous lady actress of B Town, who is often seen yelling and acting in a different way, well yes she is none other than Shefali Shah, who is a known Indian TV and film actress. She is born and brought up in Santacruz a suburb in Mumbai in a non film background wherein his father worked in RBI and mother a homeopathy doctor. Her childhood simply was confined in RBI quarters in SantaCruz in Bombay and she went to Arya Vidya Mandir in Santacruz. She made her entry into B Town via theatres and TV world doing a number of eye catching roles in different serials and even movies like Satya and Gandhi My Father. After being away from sometime, recently she was seen making her comeback by Kucch Luv Jaisaa.

As far her career in Bollywood in concerned,s he started with the movie Rangeela hit in 1995 starring Aamir Khan and Urmila Mathonkar, while she was even seen in the TV serial called Kabhie Kabhie. Later she got the chance to work in Satya in 1998 wherein she did supporting role giving her the award for supporting actress category from Star Screen Award and the best actress critic award from Filmfare. She then was seen in a number of movies including Waqt: The Race Against Time in 2005 with Amitabh Bachchan. The movie was directed by Vipul Shah, which gave loads of applauds from the critics, while her breakthrough performance came with the movie called Monsoon Wedding and the role of Kasturba in the movie Gandhi: My Father, while her role of wife of Anil Kapoor in Black & White.

These are among the mature roles, which even garnered a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Rituparno Ghosh’sThe Last Lear. In the year 2010, she took the role opposite to Kiran Karmarkar, which was the Hindi play called Dhyanimani from Chandrakant Kulkarni – Bas Itna Sa Khwab. As far as the personal life is concerned, she got married to the TV actor called Harsh Chhaya, however, the marriage didn’t last long and she got married to director Vipul Amrutlal Shah and now the couple has two sons. She was even awarded for a number of her performances including Best supporting actress from both Filmfare and Screen for Satya, while a National Film Award for the same category for the movie The Last Lear and the Tokyo International Film Festival under the category of Best Actress for Gandhi My Father.
