Neil Nitin Mukesh is a popular Bollywood film actor who was born on 15th January 1982. He comes from the family of playback singers and is a grandson of Mukesh. He was seen working as a child artist in a couple of movies like Vijay and Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharni in the year 1988 & 1989 respectively, however, he soon decided to take a pause for his education and continue acting later. He then went to complete his school from the popular Greenlawns High School following by joining the HR College doing his B.com from Mumbai University. He got his name from Neil Armstrong the famous astronaut who landed over the moon and it was given by the veteran singer Lata Mangeshwar.
He started his career with a thriller called Johnny Gaddar in 2007 doing his debut in B Town movies wherein he played the character of a crook. He got positive reviews about his performance and even received the best male debut award in Filmfare. In fact, he got the awards for the same category from all the major award functions. He then got the movie Aa Dekhen Zara followed by Kabir Bedi’s film New York for which he got supporting award from Screen and Filmfare. Some of his known movies include Jail, Lafangey Parindey, Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, 7 Khoon Maaf, Players, David, 3G, etc. Some of his recent movies include Shortcut Romeo and Tamil movie Kaththi. His upcoming movies include Ishqeria, Dussehra, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Wazir.
The recent awards he has won include for his debut Tamil film called Kaththi with the SIIMA Awards for Best Actor In Negative Role for the film , while for 3G,he got three awards including Critics Special Award, IIFA and other awards in categories like Best Actor in Negative Role, Promising Actor, etc. Besides, he is also known for social activism and is known to form an NGO in 2009, which aims to support the needy women giving them shelter, food and vocational training. He claimed in an interview that he is often pained to see and read about the exploitation of women, which has led him to embark with this venture. In the year 2012, he was also seen active in an environment campaign known as Think Blue initiated by Volkswagen, which addressed the water scarcity issues.
