Diljit Dosanjh is a popular name in Indian TV and B Town as well. He is a singer, actor and TV Host. He was born and brought up in a small village called Kishanpur, Jalandhar Punjab, India on 6th January 1984 in a middle class family wherein his father was an employee of Punjab Roadways while his mother was a housewife. His childhood was spent in the village and later he shifted to Ludhiana wherein he completed his formal education from Al Manar Public School and his high school diploma from the same school. During his school and college days, he started singing at local gurdwaras and other places mostly the Sikh music.
He soon started professional singing and embarked with his first album song in 2000 called Ishq Da Uda Ada in association with the group called Finetone Cassettes (a group of T Series), which gave him a good exposure in the Punjabi Music Industry. He soon embarked with another music album called Smile in 2005 and since then it was no looking back. Soon he released another called Chocolate, Dance With Me, Power of Duets, Bhagat Singh, The Next Level (with nine tracks) wherein even Jimmy Shergill was roped in to lip synched performance getting applauds for the same.
In 2011, he got his entry into mainstream Punjabi movies doing the debut with the film called The Lion of Punjab. Though the film was a flop but the songs were a hit. One of the songs by YoYo Honey Singh was also among the top tracks in the UK chartbuster and was published by BBC. The very same year the film JinheMeraDilLuteya was released, which did a decent business. His controversial album called Single 15 Saal had underage girls performing indulging in alcohol with promiscuous behavior, which made him not to release. He later apologized for the same over Facebook page.
He was among the first south Asian artist to have gone to the HQs of Google, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram the very same day. Recently, he was also seen doing a duet song called Soke Studio @ MTV Season 4. Besides, he is also active in philanthropy and having brand endorsements. He is associated with a couple of NGOs for which he has promoted their causes and gave donations as well. Some of the brands he endorses include Coca Cola, Flikart to name a few.
