Fawad Afzal Khan is a Pakistani actor, model and singer who would be seen in the upcoming movie called Khoobsurat along with Sonam Kapoor releasing this September. He is among the highly paid artists in Pakistan who started his career in acting way back in 2000 with a comedy drama called Jutt and Bond, however, his prominence in the Pakistan embarked when he played the character of Hassan in 2010 serial based called Dastaan. Since 2011 he was successful as one of the leading Pakistani TV star with melodrama serials like Humsafar, which turned out to be a launch pad for his successful career leading to the romantic drama called Zindagi Gulzar Hai bringing him at the top for being the highest rated serial in his country.
Wiki : Fawad Khan got his first break in movies in the year 2007 with the popular film called Khuda Kay Liye, which turned out to be the highest grossing movie in Pakistan. His performance in the lead character gave him accolades and critical reception from different quarters of the industry for which he fetched the Lux Style Award under the category of Best Actor. In the year 2013, he was nominated at Tarang Houseful Award For Best Actor for his character played in the highly rated serial called Arman in Pakistan. Before entering the cinema and into acting he was more known to be a singer. He was the lead singer of one of the popular Pakistani Rock band called Entity Paradigm, however, the band later split up. His songs like Rahguzar and Shor Machaand were among the top chartbusters and gave him good recognition in the country.
As far as his early life is concerned, Fawad is born in Lahore, Pakistan and was brought up Greece, UK and Saudi Arabia and then returned to his home country when he was 12. He did his A levels from Lahore Grammar School and did his Telecom engineering from National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Lahore. His first stage performance was in his school play days, which even impressed one of the popular directors called Anjum Shahzad. In fact, the same director encouraged him to try his luck in TV. At the age of 20, he started learning guitar, drum and bass once he decided to enter into this field.
When Khan returned to Pakistan he was merely 12, however, when the very next year he got the chance to work as model and thus seen walking over the ramp with Mahira Khan at India Bridal Fashion Week and the Loreal Bridal Week Day at Paris. This later gave him a good break for doing a number of commercials including Mobilink, TUC Biscuit, Servis Shoes, Clean & Clear Shampoo, etc. He later jumped into singing career wherein he was the lead singer of a popular rock band, which gave him the opportunity to embark with his fist album called Irtiqa in 2003 giving recognition in singing. Later the band got dissolved and finally in 2010 they reunited to see them performing on a popular TV musical show called Bolo Bolo Season 3.
His entry into TV world was way back in 2000 when he was seen in the serial called Jutt and Bond wherein he played the character of Bumbling spy boy. He later was seen in the travel and adventure drama called Satrangi directed by the same man who encouraged him to enter the world of acting called Anjum Shehzad. Khan was seen showcasing the character of an engineering student who goes on a country’s trip with his six friends in a mini bus. In the year 2010 he was seen playing the lead character of Hassan in a serial called Bano. As far as his entry into films is concerned, he was seen in the movie called Khuda Kay Liye, which was among the biggest blockbuster of the year 2007. This movie gave him a good launch pad for his acting career especially in the film world. He later kept on getting a couple of smaller and bigger movies including Arman for which he was nominated for the best actor. His entry into Bollywood would be seen with the movie called Khoobsurat, which is about to be released next month. It is produced by UTV wherein he would be playing along with Sonam Kapur, Ratna Pathak, Aditi Roy Hydari. Lastly, in his personal front, he is married to his old time girl friend Sadaf in 2005 whom he was dating since past eight years. The couple has a cute son called Ayaan Khan.
