Shruti Rajalakshi Hasan is a popular Indian actor, musician and singer in South Indian movies and even in Bollywood. She comes from the popular Indian actor family of Kamal Haasan and Sarika. Her sibling (her younger sister) represents India for Ballroom Latin Danc . Haasan went to Abacus Montessori School in Chennai. She then to shifted to Bombay to study Psychology at St Andrew’s College and later she went to the USA to learn music and filmmaking doing a relevant program course from Musicians Institute in California. After returning to India she entered into south Indian movie world and then to Bollywood for different movies.

Wiki : Shruti Haasan first role was in the movie called Hey Ram (Tamil and Hindi Movie) wherein she appeared for a cameo role of Vallabhbhai Patel directed by his father. This is the same time when she got some good offers, however, she kept on denying to get another big budget Telugu movie from giant houses like Disney with the movie Anaganaga O Dheerudu. Her movie was translated into seven different languages including in Hindi calling it as Luck, however, all turn down flop and thus making her unlucky for the big banner movie. It was really a bad time for her to being named as unlucky for the movie, which torn her within, however, soon she rose up to work hard and give good movies.

Soon she got her next movie from Bollywood called Dil To Baccha Hai Ji from Madhur Bhandarkar wherein she had a guest appearance along with Embran Hashmi, Ajay Devgn and Shazahn Padamsee wherein the played the role of the step daughter of Ex Miss India model. However, her performance was not appreciated and was therefore reduced to the last ditch glamour while another was seen labelling her as the disappointment only. Later she did a Tamil movie called 7aum Arivu wherein the played a young scientist character, which was very well appreciated by the critics and audience giving a good review for her. Her next Tamil movie- Oh My Friend was a romantic comedy, which also garnered good review for her though the movie had critical remakes from the reviewers.

Her next movie was Aishwarya with Dhanush, which turned big hit for the song called Why This Kolaveri Di. The critics thus helping her to carve her niche in her acting skills appreciated her performance in the said movie. She then got another movie called Gabbar Singh, which is the remake of Dabang. She played the character of Sonakshi Sinha in the movie thus garnering good applauds from the critics. This then gave a couple of other movies including the Tamil and other south Indian movies along with the Bollywood movies like D Day from Nikhil Advani. Her performance in the movie was appreciated though the film proved out to be average on the box office. Later she was even seen in the movie called Ramaiya Vastavaiya. Her recent movie is a Telugu film called Yevadu, which she has done opposite Ram Charan Teja.

She has her three upcoming movie scheduled in a row, which include the sequel of Welcome called Welcome Back, Gabbar, etc, while she is doing a Telugu action movie called Aagudu opposite Mahesh Babu and Tamannah wherein she will doing one item number. Apart from acting, Shruti is also fond of singing and she was barely size when she sung her first song called Tehvar Magan for her father’s movie called Ilaiyaraaja. She has sung a number of songs in different Tamil movies and Hindi movies including Luck and Hiss. Besides, she is also known for composing music and writing down lyrics, which she has done for a couple of movies in the south. She got nominated for different categories in the South Indian Film awards and have won a couple of them as best actress, singer etc.
