Brijendra Kala is an actor from Bollywood who hails from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. He was born and brought up in Mathura. He hails from a simple family as his father worked in a veterinary hospital, while his family comes from Pauri, Garhwal in Uttarakhand. He did his schooling from Mathura and later headed to Delhi to do theatres as an actor. He did a number of plays, and after working for 17 years, he finally applied in NSD or National School of Drama as Repertory. However, his bad luck did prevent him from getting the admission. The seats were full, and he was unable to gain admission. He then headed to Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts Repertory in Delhi and applied there as well.
But again luck did not favour him, and Kala failed to get the admission there as well. He then got involved in local theatre groups in Delhi. In 1992, he then headed to Mumbai to try his fortune in Bollywood. In Mumbai, he got the chance to work with the screenwriter Achala Ashar and helped him in screenwriting. He then got involved in writing dialogues for a number of TV shows including the ones from Ekta Kapoor. These included Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and others. His first break in acting came much later in the year 2003 when he got his first film called Haasil whom he has known for the struggling days.
In 2005, he got a number of movies, which include Bunty Aur Babli, Shabd, and Raghu Romeo. He then did other films like Gafla, Ahista Ahista, Jab We Met, Mithya, Dasvidaniya, Aloo Chaat, Raat Gayi Baat Gayi, Saluum, 10Ml Love, Karthik Calling Karthik, Dus Tola, Pappu Can’t Dance Saala, and Phaas Gaye Re Obama. Some of his recent movies include Udanchhoo, Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain, PK, Dhh, Qarib Qarib Single, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Tubelight, Jolly LLB 2, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Rustom, Running Shaadi, Zero, FryDay, PK Lele A Salesman, and Batti Gul Meter Chalu. He also did a web series called Love per Square Foot. Stay tuned to know more about it.
