Aditya Narayan Jha is an actor, singer and TV host. He was born on 6th August 1987 in Mumbai and was brought up in this city. He is a son of popular playback singer Udit Narayan. He did his schooling and college from Mumbai. He started working young as a child artist and appeared in many Bollywood movies starting with Rangeela in 1995 with Aamir Khan when he was barely eight years of age. He then got another film called Pardes with SRK getting the role of Potla in it. His next film as a child actor was Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai with Salman Khan released in 1998. Thus he worked with all the Khans in his childhood. However, as an adult, his first film as an actor was Shaapit released in 2010.
As said, he is also a playback singer and started his singing with the film Akele Hum Akele Tum in 1995 and in Rangeela the next year. Some of the films in which he has given his voice include Pardesh, Ghooghat, Bhai, Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya, Papa The Great, Aashirbad, Chal Chalein, Shaapit, Ram Leela and Carry On Jatta to name a few. Besides, he also worked as a music composer for the film Shaapit. He was also seen as a host in a number TV shows. These include Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge in 2007 followed by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs in 2009, X Factor India in 2011, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs in 2014 till 2017 and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2018.
He has bagged some awards, for films he got one in 1997 – the Screen Awards -the Special Jury Award for his song from the film Masoom “Chhota Baccha Jaan Ke”. In TV he had a number of awards, which include Glamour Star of the Year, The Global Indian Film and Television Honours, The Global Indian TV Honours 2008: Fresh Face of The Year (Male), in 2007 alone he got a couple including the Indian Television Academy Awards: Star of the Year, New Talent Awards- Best New Anchor, Sansui Television Awards: Face Of The Year, Cinegoer’s Award: Best Anchor of a Television Program, Kalakar Awards Best Anchor of a Television Program, and in 2016, he got Zee Rishtey Award: Best Television Anchor, Zee Gold Award: Best Television Anchor, in 2017 he got the Zee Rishtey Award: Best Television Anchor and finally in 2018 the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award: Best Television Anchor.
