He rushed with his entry and went to win the show with loads of fans cheering him. This was followed by his win in another show Comedy Store in Mumbai. Following this he joined hands with another standup comedian of the same nature Biswa Kalyan Rath and made videos reviewing Bollywood movies in a comic way. Being a total filmy person, he could not stay away from the genre of Bollywood movies when it came to comedy.

Kanan’s you Tube Series was called as pretentious movie reviews.  They started with Mithun Chakraborthy starrer Gunda and went to review popular movies such as Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge, Prem Agan, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Aap Ka Suroor and many more.

Besides this, Kanan Gill also worked in a comedy show known as The Living Room on comedy Central channel. He is presently working in a film directed by Sunil Sippy which has Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles. The film is titled Noor and will release in 2017. His character is known as Saad Sehgal.
